Formed in 1981, the Butthole Surfers have been a defining band of alternative rock, widely respected as one of the most uncompromising, adventuresome and creative groups around. The Butthole Surfers' last album, Electric Larryland, sold over a million copies worldwide and spawned the #1 hit Pepper. Before heading into the studio to record their follow-up to Electric Larryland, the Butthole's have been keeping busy on other projects:

Paul Leary has earned acclaim for his work in the producer's chair working with acts such as Sublime, Meat Puppets, Supersuckers, and Toadies.

King Coffey runs his own independent record label called Trance Syndicate, working with acts such as the Roky Erickson, Bedhead, Starfish, Sixteen Deluxe and Cherubs.

Gibby Haynes had a side project called "P" (a band that also included Johnny Depp). In addition, Gibby has also been a late night DJ for Austin's 101X.

Gibby released 'Gibby Haynes and His Problem' in August 2004.
